Nothing leaves your iPhone

In Short
Forge has no servers. No account, no signup required. Your workouts, measurements, and photos remain on your iPhone, and no one else—myself included—can access them.
What Forge Saves, and Where
Workouts, exercises, templates, programs, targets, body measurements, and settings are stored in the app's local database. Progress photos are encrypted (AES-GCM) with a key stored in your iPhone Keychain, inside the app's private folder: never in your camera roll, never in a shared album.
iCloud Backup
Disabled by default. If enabled in Settings, your workouts, exercises, templates, programs, targets, and measurements are synced to your private iCloud database. No account creation needed. This copy belongs to your Apple account, not Forge. Progress photos are not synced; they stay encrypted on your device.
Apple Health
With your explicit permission, Forge reads steps, distance, active energy, workout minutes, sleep, water, weight, lean body mass, body fat percentage, VO2 max, and resting heart rate. It writes workouts, active energy, and manual weight entries. This exchange occurs locally between the app and Health.
Widgets and Apple Watch
A small summary file is shared locally between the app, widgets, and watch face within the app's private container.
In-App Purchases
Forge Plus transactions are handled by the App Store via StoreKit. Forge never processes or stores payment information.
Tutorial Videos
If you add a YouTube, TikTok, or Instagram link to an exercise, the media player loads directly from that service only when requested, exposing standard request metadata (like IP address) to that provider. Forge sends no additional data.
Exports
JSON and CSV exports are generated strictly upon request and saved wherever you choose to share them.
What Forge Does Not Do
No analytics, no trackers, no ads, no third-party SDKs, no data sales. Deleting the app removes all stored data permanently.
Children's Privacy
Forge is not directed to children under 13 and does not collect any personal data from them.
Changes
Any updates to this policy will be posted on this page and inside the app with an updated date.
